This Movie will leave you in enchantment, i managed to pick out a thing or two from its lines.
As we all imagined it should be, we dreamed of it, we craved for it and lived for it; that day when we would each stand firm and strong, hold out our heads high and promise a better tomorrow for the young ones.
It was a hard prospect, a complicated ideal, a sad premonition, but it drove us all, it made us mad with the spirit, and it held me captive till the last day! That day when all would come into the light and on that day the truth set me free… for many men fought the battles, for many women lost their hopes and lived in miser of their conditions; that’s how they thought they could fight back. So it was that they lost their lives, some were detained, some murdered, some mobbed, but the spirit they held dwelled on, it conquered the bullets that raced for their hearts, and burned the spirits of those who tormented us all.
We were judged for being ‘black,’ for holding back our emotions we were held in suspect; and for trying to be what we wanted, we were given a big flog.
But as the fog comes in the early and vanishes in the tide, we held on to the days, braved the site of it all and swallowed all the pain with pride, for in hope we lived and in hope we hoped. That one day, that one time, that one, that one people, that together with him and her and them and us all, we would march on a journey of no retreat or surrender, we would hold our broken bodies to stand against the evil before us, and take back our lives.
For freedom did never come to those who just sit and fold hands, freedom never sought a man who lingers when courage is needed, liberty never sat next to a man who only talks and talks; but only him that knows the attachment of these gifts did behold them at whatever cost, for they died, some remembered, some in vain but they accepted to die if their fight was the beginning of a greater war, a bigger struggle that would free their enchanted spirits and lead them on to the most high, until we all say ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!!
